African Nations Championship (CAN) | Ivory Coast 2023

Mota-Engil ATIV took on the challenge of building 14 pitches, including the pitches at the Stade de la Paix in Bouaké and the legendary Stade Félix Houphouet-Boigny in Abidjan, whose stadium renovations were also carried out by the Mota-Engil Group.

On February 11, we witnessed the grand final between the Nigerian national team and the Ivory Coast national team, which culminated in a 2-1 victory for the home team, which went on to win the 2023 African Nations Championship in Côte d’Ivoire.

Thus ended what is almost unanimously described as the best ever final phase of the African Nations Championship, in an edition that exceeded all expectations and reached a global audience of almost 2 billion people.

It was 33 days of thrilling competition, 19 electrifying matches and 186 intense training sessions in which we had the pleasure of welcoming 18 of the 24 national teams who celebrated the feast of African soccer on our Abidjan and Bouaké pitches.

The exceptional organization, professionalism and commitment of the Mota-Engil ATIV teams made it possible to far exceed the proposed objectives and to receive extremely positive comments and evaluations for the organization and quality of the lawns.

For Mota-Engil ATIV, it was an honor and a privilege to actively participate in the 2023 African Nations Championship, together with the Mota-Engil Group and the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF), in a country that vibrated and lived soccer intensely throughout the competition.
