Dryject and Biochar highlighted at the Spanish and Portuguese Greenkeepers’ Congresses

With the aim of presenting Dryject and Dryject+SAP Technology, they participated with a stand at the 44th Annual Congress of the Spanish Greenkeepers Association in Jerez de la Frontera. At the XXII Congress of the Portuguese Greenkeepers Association, held at the Vila Galé Santa Cruz hotel in Funchal, they participated as a speaker, where, in addition to reinforcing the benefits of Dryject and Dryject+SAP, they introduced Biochar, one of the latest services in the field of carbon management and environmental sustainability.

As a company aiming to establish itself in the Iberian market in the field of sports turf, both in construction, maintenance, and redevelopment, Mota-Engil ATIV is beginning to take steps in this direction, starting to gain recognition from its clients in this area.

With this objective, they attended two renowned events, which are excellent opportunities to showcase their skills, demonstrate their work, and at the same time, share experiences and useful information with all professionals in the sports turf field, both in Portugal and Spain.

O Biochar, resultado da pirólise de matéria orgânica, é um material versátil, extremamente rico em carbono orgânico e altamente resistente à degradação microbiológica. When integrated into sports turf, it has the ability to retain and drain water, retain nutrients and exchange them with the soil, promote the development of the microbiome, and filter heavy metals and harmful agents. This results in turf in better phytosanitary condition, with a lower likelihood of dry spots and diseases, and with reduced need for resources, whether water or fertilization. All these benefits while sequestering carbon for long periods, making it an essential tool in the fight against climate change.

Regarding Dryject, this is a technology that should be present in maintenance operations, given the various advantages that come from its use, particularly soil aeration.

The use of Dryject +SAP allows for the optimization of water consumption in the irrigation of sports turf (golf courses and/or football fields), and, like the application of Biochar, it can be used to reduce the use of water resources.

With these technologies, the aim is to offer clients viable alternatives that can be implemented to address the increasing water scarcity, a problem that is well present in all companies in the sector.

The Dryject technology has several applications in various golf courses from North to South of Portugal, as well as in Spain, with very promising results. The Dryject+SAP technology, also with various applications in both golf courses and football fields, primarily in the South of Portugal, including the Troia and Comporta areas, has shown unequivocal results – a significant reduction in water consumption.
