Vegetation Management at Infrastructures of Portugal

Mota-Engil ATIV, through its Landscaping department, has been carrying out vegetation maintenance for the Infrastructures of Portugal (IP) covering the locations of Santarém, Faro, Beja and Leiria.

The main goal is to perform vegetation maintenance work, including mowing and selective cutting of vegetation, pruning, and cutting of trees and shrubs, phytosanitary treatments, and control of invasive plants

Compliance with current legislation regarding the Integrated Management System for Rural Fires (SGIFR), the prevention of the spread of invasive exotic species, as well as other legislation relating to vegetation, are also goals to be achieved.

As a primary factor of this service, the planning of activities is noteworthy, given their complementarity and efficiency gains when executed together. The main activities of the contract include the conservation of green areas, mowing and cutting of vegetation, including cleaning of curbs, ditches, sidewalks, intersections, islets, central reservations, rest areas, and other stopping areas over an extension of 40 km, pruning and cutting of trees, removal of stumps, trees, and fallen branches, control of invasive plants, as well as disposal of invasive plant specimens.
