Mota-Engil ATIV has been carrying out a water leak detection and localization campaign in the municipality of Monchique, providing acoustic leak detection equipment as well as essential training and hands-on practice for effective field operations.

The training sessions conducted with the technical-operational teams responsible for managing water supply services focused, on one hand, on the preparation of water balance in District Metered Areas (DMA) according to the International Water Association (IWA) methodology, and, on the other, on the sequential water network shut-off method (known as the “step-test”).
The performance of leak detection teams is crucial for achieving service delivery objectives, effectively contributing to the reduction of real losses in the subsystems.
Mota-Engil ATIV is pleased with the attention and importance given to this timely issue by its clients, highlighting initiatives of this kind that significantly contribute to the water efficiency of supply systems.
As a partner for water efficiency, Mota-Engil ATIV can assist Customers in the definition of Plans for the Reduction of Unaccounted for Water and in the implementation of different improvement actions, being able to combine the detection of the non-visible leakage with the immediate repair of the rupture, contributing to greater efficiency in results.
