The landscape architecture and specialties project incorporates enticing solutions from a recreation and leisure perspective, as well as from the landscape ecology standpoint. It contributes to the sustainability of both existing and planned systems over time, making use of a public land that, until now, had no utility for the average citizen and local residents.
The new Parque Verde will open to the public, offering diverse uses and contributing to the urban and landscape enhancement of this area of Lisbon through the proper functioning of natural systems.
This project, which Mota-Engil ATIV is constructing, involves the areas of civil construction and landscaping, with a wide range of work already completed, including: land modeling, walls, reinforced concrete elements, pavements, planting of trees and shrubs, irrigation system, and lighting, with other tasks still underway.
As part of the project, which “includes the implementation of the new Carnide green park and integrates the peripheral green corridor of Lisbon,” more than 3,000 trees have already been planted in a total area of approximately 20 hectares, near the Pontinha metro station.
The project also includes the construction of roads and pedestrian paths, wooden walkways and bridges, water and recreational features, urban furniture and equipment, fences and gates, signage, planting of trees and shrubs, irrigation management system, electrical and lighting network for the park, and hydraulic installations.
Thus, Mota-Engil ATIV takes another decisive step toward the revitalization of spaces, with the aim of promoting their usefulness and improving the quality of life for the general population.
