Taking advantage of the existing infrastructure at Parque das Cidades, in direct connection with the Algarve Stadium, the Sports Complex includes two full-size football fields (11-a-side) and one 9-a-side football field, all with natural grass, as well as a core area with locker rooms and support facilities.
The complex also includes a private parking area, which allows for the parking of at least six cars and two buses, with sufficient maneuvering space for buses and emergency vehicles.
The facility will be shared by the municipalities of Faro and Loulé (owners of the Algarve Stadium) and will be used by local teams for training sessions, as well as by foreign teams that choose the region for training camps.
This project arises from the growing demand for the Algarve as a destination for football training camps by foreign and national teams, as well as from the insufficient availability of similar infrastructure in the area to accommodate the numerous local teams and the increasing number of amateur players.
