Garden cover developed by ATIV at EXPOJARDIM

For the second consecutive year, a prototype of a green shelter, whose garden cover was designed and installed by Mota-Engil ATIV, was exhibited at the latest edition of EXPOJARDIM, held at Exponor, Matosinhos, Porto.

It was developed in partnership with Larus Design, a leading company in Portugal in the construction and sale of urban furniture, for the launch of a line of bus stop shelters with landscaped roofs.

Landscaping the roofs and facades of buildings and other urban structures is a smart way to bring some green spaces to the increasingly industrial, cold, and grey cities.

These shelters have rainwater storage capacity (250 L tank) for use in watering throughout the summer season, energy autonomy using a solar panel and high-water retention capacity in the planting compost.

The use of substrate with potassium polyacrylates increases the water storage capacity, and there is also the possibility of greater energy autonomy and of managing the cover. This type of structure is adapted to countries with hot and dry climates, guaranteeing survival regardless of rainfall.

Focused on improving the quality of life of the populations and reducing the impact of its activity on climate change, this is another solution that Mota-Engil ATIV makes available to its Customers and Partners.
