As one of the players in the sports turf market, Mota-Engil ATIV participated in the I Tufgrass Congress, which took place in Toledo, Spain between 19 and 21 April, and focused on the themes of Sustainability and Technology.<\/p>\n\n

For the first time, the associations, public and private entities and companies most relevant to sports turf gathered in a single Congress, whose professionals wish to update themselves with technological advances, robotics and the processes that facilitate a transition to a more ecological and sustainable model.<\/p>\n\n

This event arises from the need for interaction between the different areas that make up the “green” sector, as they all face the same challenges: the sustainable management of high performance sports turf, maintenance based on a decarbonized economy, innovation in robotics, water saving and substitutes for phytosanitary products.<\/p>\n\n

At Mota-Engil ATIV, Water Efficiency is one of the pillars for Sustainability, strengthening awareness and contributing with effective solutions in saving water.<\/p>\n\n

An example of these practices is the use of DRYJECT + SAP technology which has been a very effective “weapon” in reducing the water footprint associated with the maintenance of various green spaces with savings that can reach up to 50%.<\/p>\n\n

In addition to publicizing its activity, Mota-Engil ATIV did not want to miss the opportunity to show its market players all the potential that this technology reveals, both in golf courses and soccer fields.<\/p>\n

The DryJect technology allows, in a single pass, the aeration of the soil through the creation of aeration channels with high pressure water and that simultaneously allows for the injection of sand, additives or correctives, with the advantage of the lawn being suitable for sports practice after the operation, which optimizes the profitability of the field. On the other hand, it allows the introduction of other components such as SAP (potassium polyacrylates) essential for the efficient management of water resources.<\/p>\n\n

With the Dryject Technology, there are already several applications, from the North to the South of Portugal and also England, Spain and France, with very positive results, which translate into improved sports practice.<\/p>\n\n

With the associated SAP, with applications from the North to the South of Portugal, we have already managed to enter the Spanish market, and the results are also quite positive, which translate into a significant reduction of water needs, since it significantly alters the water storage capacity, reducing the amount and periods of irrigation required.<\/p>\n\n

Sharing the same concerns and an alignment with these themes, the participation of Mota-Engil ATIV in the I Tufgrass Congress – Sustainability and Technology, was very positive and we hope to have contributed to the wider implementation of DRYJECT and DRYJECT + SAP technology and to the promotion of our commercial activity in the Spanish market.<\/p>\n\n
