Her presentation emphasized the importance of adopting more sustainable practices in a context marked by climate change and increasingly frequent episodes of severe drought in Portugal. <\/p>\n\n<p>Water efficiency has become a strategic priority, essential in both the public and private sectors. Companies from various fields are beginning to implement planned approaches to optimize water consumption, which involves more than just technology \u2014 it requires knowledge, rigorous monitoring, and concrete actions. <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"514\" data-id=\"14898\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ativ.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/WEBINAR_vs.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14898\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ativ.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/WEBINAR_vs.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.ativ.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/WEBINAR_vs-300x154.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.ativ.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/WEBINAR_vs-768x395.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n<p>One of the first steps is to analyze where and how water is used, allowing the identification of losses and inefficiencies that are often invisible. Based on this diagnosis, efforts can be directed toward the areas with the greatest potential for improvement. <\/p>\n\n<p>Practical examples include the reuse of treated effluents and rainwater for non-potable purposes, the implementation of closed-loop systems in industrial units, and awareness-raising actions among employees to encourage more responsible water use.<\/p>\n\n<p>The key message is clear: freshwater is a finite and precious resource.
