By the end of 2025, the Sermonde landfill (Suldouro facility) will permanently close to make way for a leisure park, and the Mota-Engil ATIV \/ CAPSIFIL consortium will play a fundamental role in this transformation.<\/p>\n\n

For the Vila Nova de Gaia City Council, the future park will begin to take shape based on a city park model, combining several aspects such as botany, sports, equipment, and children’s playgrounds.nto de v\u00e1rias vertentes, como a bot\u00e2nica, desportivo, equipamentos e parques infantis. <\/p>\n\n

With a planned duration of 12 months, the project involves the closure and landscaping integration of the landfill, including the placement of cover soil over a geotextile membrane, execution of a rainwater drainage and seeding system, adaptation of the biogas extraction network, adjustment of the leachate and effluent management system, and planting of vegetation cover.<\/p>\n\n

Este aterro foi a primeira constru\u00e7\u00e3o da Suldouro, em 1996, e teve o seu in\u00edcio de funcionamento em 1999. Abrangendo dois munic\u00edpios e mais de 440 mil pessoas, s\u00f3 em 2024, a Suldouro tratou mais de 208 mil toneladas de res\u00edduos, 25 mil das quais foram recicladas e valorizadas em nove estruturas, criando ainda, com o aterro e a central de valoriza\u00e7\u00e3o em Sermonde, uma energia de 17 GWh\/ano. <\/p>\n\n
