The April 28 blackout clearly exposed the vulnerability of operational activities that are heavily dependent on the electricity supply.<\/p>\n\n

Several essential services \u2014 from HVAC and security systems to technological infrastructure \u2014 were abruptly interrupted, revealing structural weaknesses in Facilities Management contracts that do not adequately foresee effective contingency measures.<\/p>\n\n

In such critical moments, the reliability of emergency equipment and the effectiveness of its maintenance become absolutely crucial.<\/p>\n\n

The widespread communications failure posed an additional challenge to the operation \u2014 a true test of the contractual and technical resilience of FM services.<\/p>\n\n

Despite the difficulties, Mota-Engil ATIV remained constantly present and close to the operation, monitoring the contracts with dedication and proactivity. This direct involvement helped mitigate the impacts of the blackout and ensured the continuity of essential services. <\/p>\n\n

A notable example of this response occurred with the contract for the Campanh\u00e3 Intermodal Terminal (TIC). Although all systems initially went offline due to the power failure, swift strategic decisions and, above all, the exemplary commitment of the entire ATIV team allowed the terminal to remain operational, while ensuring passenger comfort and safety. Communication with the public was handled with sensitivity and efficiency, minimizing the impact of the event on terminal visitors. <\/p>\n\n

The trust placed in ATIV by our clients proved to be decisive, allowing them to focus on strategic areas of their operations, while we ensured the prompt and effective resolution of technical challenges and difficulties.<\/p>\n\n

From refueling emergency generators to promptly responding to isolated faults, we were where we needed to be \u2014 alongside our clients and, in this particular case, the community.<\/p>\n\n

Other success stories:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Teleperformance \u2013 Diesel levels in certain buildings dropped rapidly, as the client chose to continue operations. We were able to secure 3,000 liters of diesel from Petrosintra and distribute it among the buildings according to tank levels, ensuring uninterrupted service. <\/p>\n\n

RTP \u2013 RTP\u2019s buildings, which have high energy consumption, required urgent fuel replenishment. Despite the presence of large tanks, we had to procure an additional 1,000 liters (limited by the capacity of the available vehicle) to refuel the broadcaster\u2019s generators. We successfully kept services running. <\/p>\n\n

REN \u2013 The client made 400 liters of diesel available, and our team managed the refueling of the various generators. The Prime Minister\u2019s visit to the site required our extended presence to monitor for potential failures. Once again, we ensured service continuity. <\/p>\n\n

This episode reinforces the importance of a strategic approach to infrastructure management, where proximity, professionalism, and preparation make all the difference. ATIV\u2019s actions showed that we are on the right path: with effective solutions, dedicated teams, and a focus on service continuity \u2014 even in the face of the most demanding challenges. <\/p>\n\n
