The construction of the Ecovia do Litoral Algarvio in the municipality of Lagos was carried out by Mota-Engil ATIV with the aim of promoting active cycling mobility, crucial for decarbonizing transportation, while maximizing benefits for citizens’ well-being by encouraging healthier lifestyles.<\/p>\n\n

The Ecovia do Litoral Algarvio starts at Cape St. Vincent and ends in Vila Real de Santo Ant\u00f3nio, covering approximately 214 km in total. It is integrated into the network of municipal roads, urban streets, and existing rural paths.<\/p>\n\n

Mota-Engil ATIV was responsible for the construction of the section that crosses the municipality of Lagos, spanning from the village of Burgau (on the border between the municipalities of Vila do Bispo and Lagos) to the Odi\u00e1xere River, passing through the villages of Luz, Lagos, and Meia Praia, with a total length of 15.1 kilometers.<\/p>\n\n

The intervention was characterized by delineating the Ecovia route through the implementation of vertical and horizontal signage, creating new pedestrian\/cycling paths, and improving existing platforms and pavements.<\/p>\n\n

This intervention aims to ensure accessibility and safe transit conditions for future users of the Ecovia, continuously and for as many years as possible.<\/p>\n\n
