Following the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, promoting awareness and prevention, a set of activities dedicated to the theme took place on May 15, with the participation of about 100 employees.
The event took place simultaneously at the Alverca and Modivas websites and included the sharing of information about accident indicators and some ongoing initiatives, as well as the implementation of a set of local activities with the collaboration of all participants.
“Building a Safety Culture” was the message left by the administration that opened the session, reinforcing the importance of minimizing accidents, acting in prevention.
“Hélio Loureiro, Safety, Health and Environment Manager of the Mota-Engil Group, also participated, presenting the Group’s strategic lines for 2024 in terms of SST prevention.”
Mental Health was also a topic addressed, within the scope of the Mota-Engil Group’s Wellness Program, and the results of the psychosocial risk assessment survey at ATIV, carried out at the end of 2023, were presented.
In this sharing, energized by the Wellness Manager of the Mota-Engil Group – Inês Queirós, the data revealed the most critical themes and signaled for intervention, the great cognitive and emotional demand and also the predictability of tasks.
This is an important starting point, which will allow us to identify and seek the best solutions to respond to the challenges of preventing psychosocial risks at Mota-Engil ATIV.
For now, the next steps include the future provision to ATIV employees of a free psychological support service, provided by an external entity, as well as training in stress management, among other activities/guidelines.
The dynamic and interactive activities were energized by the SHEQ ATIV team and had as central themes: Selection of PPE suitable for each task; Adoption of the best postures in manual load handling and the selection of suitable support means; Knowing and sharing the Golden Rules; Identifying and signaling unsafe acts and dangerous conditions; What to do in case of an accident and in an emergency context.
Health and safety is only possible with everyone’s participation. Together we will contribute to making 2024 a year of prevention!
