The contract was signed on the 23rd of February at the Depósito Geral de Material da Força Aérea, in Alverca do Ribatejo, and begins the requalification and environmental and landscape conservation of another stretch of the riverfront between Alverca and Sobralinho, over an extension of approximately 4.9 km and an area of approximately 14.1 hectares.
This project aims to enhance the natural heritage and landscape, promote Nature Tourism, build access infrastructures and boost activities on the river through a diversified range of spaces, create areas to stay and contemplate the birdlife and landscape, ensure the continuity of the soft mobility system along the riverfront, implement measures to minimize the impact of rising sea levels as a result of climate change.
In this first phase, earthmoving works, infrastructure, paving, wooden walkways, plantations, and mixed bridges will be carried out.
The project also foresees the application of LED lighting equipment with photovoltaic/wind energy production capacity, which will be used to power the lighting fixtures integrated in these columns, as well as the video surveillance system.
