21st Opera Gala of the University of Lisbon

With the support of Mota-Engil ATIV, on 3 December, the Aula Magna of the Rectory of Lisbon sold out to see and hear the 21st Opera Gala of the Orquestra Sinfónica Juvenil (OSJ), integrated in the Music at the University of Lisbon programme.

Directed by Christopher Bochmann, the overture of Anna Bolena by Donizetti and Coro a bocca chiusa, from the opera Madame Butterfly, by Puccini, were part of the line-up of the Youth Symphony Orchestra’s Grand Opera Gala, this year accompanied by the Choir of the University of Lisbon, the Chamber Choir of the Gregorian Institute of Lisbon and the Capo Vocal Choir.

Founded in 1973, the Youth Symphony Orchestra is today recognised as a fundamental institution in the Portuguese music-pedagogical panorama with the mission of training young musicians with high standards and professionalism.

Mota-Engil ATIV wanted to join and support, once again, an initiative that works towards the teaching and promotion of music.
